The scenic cruises depart from the Mikkeli harbor, which is accessible on foot from the town center via a pedestrian bridge crossing the railway track, about 400 meters away. Cruises will be offered during the summer of 2025 for six consecutive weeks starting from the week after Midsummer. The cruises are operated by three different vessels: M/S Lola3, M/S Helga, and M/S Aino. The cruise boats change weekly. The summer season will begin with Lola3, and Helga and Aino will alternate in the following weeks.
"The route passes under the Savilahti highway bridges and along the shore of Kenkävero. As the 19th-century pavilion of Lamposaari peeks through the trees on the rocks, the journey continues south of the Kirkonvarkaus Bridge to Annilanselkä, where villas and lakeside houses from the Mikkeli housing fair area rise along the shores. At the southern end of Annilanselkä lies the historic Surmansalmi, a reminder of the 18th-century Battle of Porrassalmi. Upon entering the strait, the boat signals with a horn and continues its journey to Kyyhkylänselkä, where the rich lakeside landscape of Saimaa unfolds, complete with summer cottages and lakeside saunas."
