In these trips, part of the journey is by bus and part on the Kaunis Veera boat. The boat trip lasts about 3 hours, giving you plenty of time to enjoy the stunning nature of Lake Saimaa. Keep your eyes peeled, as you might spot the charming Saimaa ringed seal. There will be several swimming opportunities during the trips, so be sure to pack your swimsuit and towel.

"South Savo, Finland's most forested region, is also the land of hundreds of lakes and thousands of islands. Bridges, ferries, and roads make travel so easy for modern people that you might not even realize you’re in an archipelago here in Puumala. Just last century, the islanders in this area had better transportation connections than other rural residents because there were more waterways than road routes. Water routes and forest paths were sufficient for the self-sufficient people living here, who could get almost everything they needed from their own land and the surrounding forests and lakes."
