Summer Trip to Okkola and Liehtalanniemi
Welcome to Niinisaari, an authentic island village in Saimaa. At the stone barn of Okkola's yard, Restaurant Niinipuu offers local food from seasonal ingredients of South Savo. At the Liehtalanniemi museum farm, you can relax in the charm of the archipelago nature, pet sheep, or listen to the steward's stories about the farm's last resident, Liehtalan Jallu. This trip is organized on Wednesdays: 2.7., 16.7., 30.7., and 13.8.
Schedule of the trip
9:00 AM Departure from Mikkeli Travel Center
9:05 AM Departure from Mikkeli Market Square charter bus stop. We will drive to Puumala harbor via Pistohiekka, Pistocamp, and Sahanlahti Resort if necessary.
11:00 AM Departure for the cruise on M/S Kaunis Veera
12:00 PM - 1:30 PM Visit to Okkola / Restaurant Niinipuu
2:00 PM - 3:00 PM Visit to Liehtalanniemi museum farm
3:00 PM Departure for the return trip
4:15 PM Arrival at Puumala harbor
4:30 PM Return trip by bus to Mikkeli. The excursion bus will stop at Sahanlahti and Pistohiekka if necessary. Arrival in Mikkeli around 5:50 PM.

The ticket price includes: Round-trip transportation from Mikkeli by charter bus and a cruise on Lake Saimaa.
NOTE! Meals and coffee are not included in the ticket price and must be purchased separately. Please contact the restaurant/boat staff directly regarding food allergies.
Tips for the trip
You can board the excursion bus from Pistohiekka (Resort and Pistocamp) or Sahanlahti instead of the Mikkeli stops.
You can also purchase a cruise-only ticket from port to port (Puumala).

A marked 1.5 km forest trail starts from the yard of Restaurant Niinipuu, suitable for independent walking and relaxation.
