This bus tour to the rock paintings of Astuvansalmi starts with a charter bus from Mikkeli. We board the boat from the Varkaantaipalee canal.
You can get on board, either from Mikkeli Matkakeskus, from the market square's charter bus stop or from Ristiina. We take a bus to Varkaantaipalee canal, where we board the boat from the pier.
We cruise on the Aino boat through the Kirkkotaipalee canal to the rock paintings of Astuvansalmi, which takes the visitor to the lives of people thousands of years ago. The Astuvansalmi rock paintings are the largest collection of paintings in the Nordic countries, and around 80 painted images have been found there.
You will have about 45 minutes to visit the rock paintings, after which we will take a short cruise on the night water.

NOTE! You can get on the bus from Ristiina instead of Mikkeli or from Varkaantaipalee. The cruise ticket Varkaantaipale - Astuvansalmi - Varkaantaipale can be bought in the cafeteria of the ship for 35 € / person (children 20 €).
